XVI. The Tower

Bellona, scream! Unhood the Hawks! the roar of the universes crashing into war - A.C., The book of Thoth The "Lower" paths tend to have a more sensory effect, closer to the body, closer to the practical aspects of life, less abstract... This is the first path  from א that does not connect to either Kether or Tiphareth.  This is the explosive nature of the relationship between the intellect (Hod) and Nature (Netzach).  Mental structures (fantasies, fictions) so carefully constructed are destroyed when nature takes its toll... a different approach was taken to traverse this path compared to all others.  It seems that the process of path traversal has reached a certain threshold where the previous methods are now seen as shallow and superficial.  While working this path I lived these past two weeks as if this path was the essence of reality - all events thoughts and feelings were interpreted in terms of it.  Basically I lived in it.  If/when ...

XV. The Devil

With thy Right Eye create all for thyself and with the Left accept all that be created otherwise - A.C. The Book Thoth. as much as I try to get away from Crowley in this project, I keep finding myself reverting to his works.  Still I'm able to get just enough help from him to get going when I get stuck.  For this project and for this type of work the old style of tarot and magic is what sets the correct vibe and tone. Annoyances by the bosses at work pushing to get something done, creating anxiety to get something done quickly... well that's BS I think it can't be done as quickly as you think and pushing everyone like that will not produce a good result, the data crypt fiasco comes to mind - when the desire to produce a result overrides any thoroug...

XIV. Temperance

Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invienes Occultum Lapidem. -Inscription on the crypt of Christian Rozenkreuz (Visit the inetrior of the  Earth.  By rectification thou shalt find the hidden stone) A very fitting sequel to "Death", this path represents change, but on a deeper, higher, more abstract level.  While "Death" is an involuntary change by the means of the destruction of old, or outdated forms, Temperance is a willed change by the way of perfecting one's art, skill, or an object of focus.  Constant practice. A foot in the stream seems to imply the probing of the waters before diving in. One is always mindful of progress and the direction in which the change is headed. This is not change for its own sake, this is change for the purpose of attaining a goal.  The goal is drawn in the back of the card as a shining crown with a road leading to it.  The road originates on the shore of the stream in which the angelic figure is perfecting the ...
