XV. The Devil

as much as I try to get away from Crowley in this project, I keep finding myself reverting to his works.  Still I'm able to get just enough help from him to get going when I get stuck.  For this project and for this type of work the old style of tarot and magic is what sets the correct vibe and tone.

"The Devil" working was neither as exciting or as difficult as I originally imagined... it was a bit annoying.  I became keenly aware of the restrictions placed upon myself either by myself or by circumstance.

Annoyances by the bosses at work pushing to get something done, creating anxiety to get something done quickly... well that's BS I think it can't be done as quickly as you think and pushing everyone like that will not produce a good result, the data crypt fiasco comes to mind - when the desire to produce a result overrides any thorough thinking... but I digress - that's all relate to my personal and professional life.

The "Devil" figure's hand is raised in the manner opposite of the Hierophant.  The Hierophant's gesture implies a reality beyond the one perceptible by the senses.  The Devil's gesture indicates that what you see (ע) is all that there is.  This attitude frees one from any further seeking... seemingly... yet the sense of oppression it creates forces one to seek deeper.

Upon starting on this path I asked the chained figures in front of him why don't they take off the chain, the yoke and just free themselves?  I got no coherent answer.  I asked the Devil why he keeps them. 
"they shall be chained as such until they figure it out themselves."
"To what end?"
"so they can dig deeper, visit the interior of the earth and rectify."
 "To what end?"
"To find the hidden stone".

and then GG Allin appeared.

thus this is a nod back to Temperance.

Negation seemed to be a function associated with this Path.  A Netti-netti meditation (not this, not that).

Indirectly the Devil is forcing you to transcend and pick up magic as a way of dealing with life.

the Path is called renewing intelligence because the Holy God renews by it all the changing things which are renewed by the creation of the world - so this path is the one taken by the Holy God when that which can be renewed is renewed.  It is the 26th path and thus a nod to יהוה.

Joseph Lisiewski: "The higher aspect of this path is indicative of that creative, innate, spiritual power of God existing within the indiviual.  If this God-power actually manifests itself within the individual, that person becomes a semi-divine being, partaking of both the nature of a man and a God.  He or she knows their True Will, is exalted thereby, and begins the arduous process of liberating the world the the exercise of that True Will in the world of Mankind.

Return to the tree of life traverse, in reverse

 The World How interesting it is to look back when I finished at this point in March of 2018. More will be added later as this path unfolds. The way out is not the same as the way in. The way back in is not the same as the way out. Even when using the same doorway. Its the idea of the analogy that as 3 dimensional objects leave a 2 dimensional shadow, 4 dimensional objects leave a 3 dimensional shadow - our world. The Sun, The Moon, The Star, The Tower

  This is where we are now. each path can be best understood in relation to the other paths and the sephirot which they connect. yet each has a similar meaning, or a deepening of the same meaning. The deeper meaning. When we traversed the path of the Universe we realized the oneness of All. The realization is further elucidated by the path of Judgement which wakes up the latencies, the forgotten dead to realize that oneness... but to get there, the ordeal of The Moon path must be passed. The deceitful nature of self-delusion, the ability to walk through the 2 towers and comprehend that which is beyond duality. the realization itself is The Sun card. A glimpse of higher intelligence is now at hand with The Star card. The star card reminds us that the black iron tower of the mind is neither black nor iron and can be dissolved. The star card shows that it is not as tightly sealed and is "leaky". the shattering completes with The Tower card.
