The traversal of the 5th key the Hieropaht, the 16th path Vav.
A breakthrough came in the Ruggles station when an overwhelming sense of a point of gold light in the chest became associated with "christ-consciousness". According to A.E. Waite and Dr. Lisiewski, the Hierophant symbolizes the act of redemption and the joy which issues from that redemption. According to Waite the Hierophant is neither religion, nor inspiration, nor intuition. The Hierophant represents the expression and the mode of expression of religion, inspiration, and intuition. The hand gesture of the Hierophant is a symbol of separation of the manifest and the unmanifest. This is congruent with the letter VAV associated with the card which means Nail and is used to mean 'And' in hebrew. The Hierophant is a connection between the manifest and the unmanifest reality.
The letter Vav has the value of 6 which refers to the 6th sephira Tiphareth which symbolizes the Sun, the Self, Christ-consciousness, and the Holy Guardian Angel
The Hierophant, The path of Vav leads from sephira #2, Hokhma, to sephira #4, Gedulah. whereas the Emperor, the path of Heh leads from sephira #2 to sephira #6. The Hierophant is a reflection of the merciful aspects of the Emperor.
He retains the rigidity of the Emperor (his neck is bound by a blue collar) and is quite rigid in his views. His rigidity is influenced by Gedulah (mercy) as referred to by the color blue of the collar.
