The symbolism of "The High Priestess" is very congruent with Mother Mary. Can we put it through a symbolic analysis and verify the congruency?
1. The path of Gimel to which the High Priestess is assigned leads from Kether to Tiphareth. Kether, the crown, is the ineffable source of creation, It is that through which the 3 negative layers of Ain, Ain Soph, and Ain Soph Aur begin to condense into something intelligible though not quite comprehensible. As the ineffable source of all creation it is also called "The Father", the Ancient of Days, the Ancient of Days, 1, the first whirlings, basically Father G-d, as the christians like to say. The path of Gimel leads to Tiphareth, 6, which is associated with the center, the Son of the abovementioned father, also with Osiris, Krishna, Apollo, Dionysis, Jesus, and every other dead or dying G-d. So Gimel, is the channel which brings the influence of Kether to Tiphareth, and Tiphareth is also the reflection of Kether in its own realm.
